Award-winning work in the 43rd SBC Scientific Initiation Paper Competition

Scholarship student Gabriel Ukstin Talasso, from Meta 3 – Distributed Learning, presented the work entitled "Solutions for Heterogeneous Data in Federated Learning through Model Similarity and Client Clustering" at the 43rd Scientific Initiation Paper Competition of the Brazilian Computer Society. In addition to Gabriel (first author), the work is supervised by Professor Leandro Villas.

The work received an honorable mention and took third place in the competition.

The Scientific Initiation Paper Competition (CTIC) is an annual event of the Brazilian Computer Society that takes place during the Brazilian Computer Society Congress (CSBC). The event selects exceptional papers developed by undergraduate students, which are published in the CSBC proceedings and awarded prizes.

The CTIC aims to stimulate the development of scientific work in software, hardware, microelectronics and related areas by undergraduate students in the area of ​​Computing and encourage them to produce original scientific texts on work carried out by them, on topics related to the area.
