Award-winning work in the 43rd SBC Scientific Initiation Paper Competition

Scholarship student Gabriel Ukstin Talasso, from Meta 3 – Distributed Learning, presented the work entitled “Solutions for Heterogeneous Data in Federated Learning through Model Similarity and Client Grouping“, at the 43rd Scientific Initiation Paper Competition, of the Brazilian Society of Computing. In addition to Gabriel (first author), the work is supervised by Professor Leandro Villas.

The work received an honorable mention and came in third place in the competition.

The Scientific Initiation Paper Competition (CTIC) is an annual event of the Brazilian Computing Society that takes place during the Congress of the Brazilian Computing Society (CSBC). The event selects exceptional works developed by undergraduate students, which are published in the CSBC annals and awarded awards.

CTIC aims to stimulate the development of scientific work in software, hardware, microelectronics and related areas by students on undergraduate courses in the area of ​​Computing and encourage them to produce original scientific texts on work carried out by them, on topics related to the area.
