National Highlight: H.IAAC Theses Shine at the SBC Robotics Competition and Win 1st and 2nd Place

H.IAAC is proud to share a great achievement: our researchers Letícia Mara Berto and Alana Santana Correia won, respectively, 1st and 2nd place in the Thesis and Dissertation Competition in Robotics of the Brazilian Computer Society (SBC).

Both theses were developed under the guidance of Professor Esther Colombini, within the research line Learning in Cognitive Architectures, reaffirming H.IAAC's commitment to scientific excellence and innovation in robotics.

🥇 1st place: Letícia Mara Berto with the work "Built to Learn: An Intrinsically Motivated Approach to Incremental Learning in Robotics." Letícia is currently a postdoctoral researcher at the University of Manchester. The full thesis can be read at link.

🥈 2nd place: Alana Santana Correia with the work "DreamerRL: An RL Framework for Autonomous Development in Humanoid Robotics." Alana continues to contribute to H.IAAC as a postdoctoral researcher in the Learning in Cognitive Architectures research line. The full thesis can be read at link.
